The Restaurant Iniro: Gastronomical
reference in the region, combines
the traditional cantabrian cuisine,

Juan Carlos Ramos and his Team
conjugate these two styles obtaining

a fan of gastronomical possibilities

In the beautiful valley
of Carriedo, it will enchant
anyone to discover this
Palace constructed in 1719
as a golden stone jewel.
Recovered and turned to
hotel in the 2001, it welcomes
its guests under the shadow
of twice centennial magnolios.
The magnificent central
staircase, full of charm
and legend, it's unique
in its Renaissance style.
Built at the beginning of
XVIII century, it represents
the most sumptuous baroque
construction of civil character
in Cantabria. In 1719, when
the carreidan D. Juan Diaz
de Arce y Perez del Camino
decided to have a palace
constructed in the place
of the original one born
there in 1665. It seems
that he ordered the planes
for it to the architect
Cosimo Fontanelli (whom
he knew during his long
stay in Italy as deputy
agent in Rome of Felipe
V ), although other sources
attribute the work to the
architect Francisco de la
Riva.
The Palace was built around
the medieval tower in which
at that time D. Juan resided
and that today can still
easily be appreciable from
the outside.
In Soñanes forms
of very diferent origins
are accumulated and mixed,
with clear Plateresque references
in the Churriguero concept.
Between the last inhabitants
of the palace we deploy
Fernando Fernandez de Velasco
and Perez de Soñanes,
howner of a splendid library.
The actual Hotel Palace
of Soñanes, despite
conserving the baroque and
countryside references in
its architectonic style
and respecting the interior
design of the building decorated
by Paco Entrena, has introduced
modern elements necessary
