Castle hotel Castell d'Empordà is an architectural jewel that was built eight centuries ago. The castle previously belonged to Pere Margarit, a captain who served under Columbus and who was himself the discoverer of Magarita Island.

When Albert Diks and Margo Vereijken saw this national monument, they realized that they had found the perfect place to transform their dreams into reality: a medieval castle, located in a region whose beauty is comparable to that of Tuscany or Provence, just minutes from the Mediterranean Sea and beautiful beaches. It was then that they decided to buy and restore the castle, finally transforming it into the magnificent castle hotel that it is today.

Now the 12 hectare estate contains castle accommodation offering 38 high standard rooms and a fantastic restaurant, and is surrounded by a hundred-year-old forest and a splendid olive orchard for our guests' exclusive enjoyment.

The castle hotel Castell D'Empordà lies in Girona, a beautiful city in Northern Catalonia strategically connected to almost all major European airports. A flight to Girona from other regions of Europe takes a maximum of two hours.
